New rules for creating a Micro-Entreprise in France
We are seeing some post-Brexit changes to the regulations covering Micro-Entreprise applications in France. For clients who are no longer part of the EU (i.e. those from the United Kingdom), the authorities require a Carte de Séjour number (not just the registration application number, but the actual card number itself) in order to process ME applications. The only exception is for individuals who have arrived in France in 2020 or earlier when ME applications may still be processed without a CdS but only before 31st January 2021.
Anyone thinking about setting up an ME who is not in possession of a CdS should apply for one as a matter of urgency.
We also encourage all British expats who have not yet applied for their CdS to do so as soon as possible and not wait until the final deadline of June 2021. The rules are already changing post-Brexit and those without a CdS may find themselves disadvantaged.
